John Benedict

John Benedict has become an author at a very late time in his life.  Having had a career as an engineer turned Marketeer, he started at Honeywell as a sales engineer selling technical products.  He was transferred to 4 major cities as he rose from rookie salesman to a manager of 40 people.

John Benedict has always been involved in government activities, participating in caucuses, state conventions and writing on the subject. There was little of civics taught in school but once the 1960’s arrived he was gradually captured by the many items happening in government. The last 65 years has been a daily study in the revelation of America, the politicians, government and the voters. John Benedict has been educated way beyond government 101. Experience beats listening to teachers and professors every time.

My biggest growth has been in my faith.  Been attending church since I was born but my faith has doubled, tripled and quadrupled as I participated in all church activities and encountered major crises and changes in my life. I credit the Lord Almighty for taking me from a meager start with many ups and downs to leading a splendid life with a Spiritually rich lady who has helped me grow in my faith.

There are two places in our lives where we must live – our own being and the external world that surrounds us.  Not only the external world without God but evil is part of that world.  The Christian Life requires faith in Jesus Christ and the Triune God.  This is a primary matter and affects how we live in this very difficult environment.

Yet we live in this world that is not heaven.  We can see and feel the Holy Spirit, but the world contains evil and the very natural desire for immediate pleasure and success, which often challenges our faith.  The world’s temptations are many and attractive. We receive two separate and often contrary messages, seemingly giving us an impossible task.  Yet Christians must learn to live in the world because of family, jobs, etc.

One can read scripture in the Bible, but then must make the transition from those guidelines to the action that requires a Christian to take in this world.  How do we act on the issues of life directly on the playing field?

My approach is to take common living in this world challenges and discuss how a Christian could live his faith in that instance.

This book  attempts to describe how you can live in this world as a Christian.  Brace yourself.  31 chapters for 31 life situations.  It is a challenge.
